Alabama should field one of the nation's top defensive squads in 2011, led by hard-hitting linebackers Dont'a Hightower and Courtney Upshaw and a veteran secondary highlighted by senior safety Mark Barron. The defense is, indeed, talented and deep.
Offensively, Alabama's strength will be along a veteran line, led by senior center William Vlachos. The early departure to the NFL of wide receiver Julio Jones hurt the receiving corps, but Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks, and a group of talented youngsters are being counted on to step up there.
